The Lady's Feast of the New Year

In the time of the Old Ones, before the Great War, a year measured 372 days long, divided into 12 months of 31 days each.

After the destruction of the world, The Lady created Yrazul to have the same calendar. It was Johan Francis who suggested making the last three days of each month a celebration in honor of The Lady. By the year 100, most of the Isles had adopted the Johan calendar, and by the year 200, the celebrations had become separate holidays.

In 303, the Isle of Belanthor fell from the sky. This affected the balance of Yrazul, and the length of The Lady's year, although that was not readily apparent in the storms that followed. Within ten years, it became apparent that something was wrong, that the years had gotten shorter. It took another five years to figure out how much shorter, and another twelve before the church reached a common consensus about how to adjust the calendar.

The new year was now 365.25 years long. The holiday <blank> between Feb and Mar was eliminated, and the holidays of SpringFest between Arp and May, <blank> between Jun and Jul, and <blank> between Sep and Oct were shortened from three days to two.

Note: Calendar corresponds to real year 2006.
