The Jolly Dancer Tavern

GM Info
Player Info

The Jolly Dancer is located near the center of Ironnesse, near a small inn called the White Sail Inn.
One of the better known taverns in Ironnesse, it is owned and operated by Master Louis, a retired merchant guard. The Jolly Dancer owes it success to two things, the first and foremost being it's cook, Carol.

The other reason the Jolly Dancer is so successful is the large number bards it draws to play for it's dance floor. Master Louis accomplishes this by not charging performers a percentage of their earnings, as most other Inns and Taverns do, and enforcing two simple rules:
1) Each performer gets two turns of the Hour Glass on the bar, then must turn the stage over to the next performer.
1) Anyone may play, but if you earn no coin, you are banned from the bar for a year.

Because of that, his place has become a popular tavern for wandering minstrels to play at - and the bonus to him is that his place is usually the first stop for news from out of town. The second rule developed over time, and now only the most foolish or unwitting new bard will try and play the Jolly Dancer - word has spread around town that if you earn no coin at the Jolly Dancer, no other place in town will bother with you. So you better be good enough to earn coin before you play the Jolly Dancer, or you won't earn coin at all.

Master Louis employs several people at The Jolly Dancer, who ensure it is a clean, fun and safe environment.

The bouncer is a VERY large man called only ‘Tom’. Tom does not put up with bad behavior from anyone and that includes unwelcome attention to the women that work there. Once bounced from the tavern, you are never allowed back in. If anything serious occurs in the tavern the troublemakers will quickly learn that Master Louis is a much more dangerous man than Tom. Tom is the visible deterrent, his size alone stops most trouble before it starts.
